40 - 8  אָז אָמַרְתִּי, הִנֵּה-בָאתִי:    בִּמְגִלַּת-סֵפֶר, כָּתוּב עָלָי

 az amartti, hinneh-va'ti:    bimgillat-sefer, katuv alay

40 - 9  לַעֲשׂוֹת-רְצוֹנְךָ אֱלֹהַי חָפָצְתִּי;    וְתוֹרָתְךָ, בְּתוֹךְ מֵעָי

 la'asot-retzonecha elohay chafatzetti;    vetoratecha, betoch me'ay

40 - 10  בִּשַּׂרְתִּי צֶדֶק, בְּקָהָל רָב--    הִנֵּה שְׂפָתַי, לֹא אֶכְלָא:יְהוָה,    אַתָּה יָדָעְתָּ

 bisartti tzedek, bekahal rav--    hinneh sefatay, lo echla:Adonai,    attah yada'ta

40 - 11   צִדְקָתְךָ לֹא-כִסִּיתִי, בְּתוֹךְ לִבִּי--    אֱמוּנָתְךָ וּתְשׁוּעָתְךָ אָמָרְתִּי;לֹא-כִחַדְתִּי חַסְדְּךָ וַאֲמִתְּךָ,    לְקָהָל רָב

  tzidkatecha lo-chissiti, betoch libi--    emunatecha uteshu'atecha amaretti;lo-chichadtti chasdecha va'amittecha,    lekahal rav

40 - 12   אַתָּה יְהוָה--    לֹא-תִכְלָא רַחֲמֶיךָ מִמֶּנִּי;חַסְדְּךָ וַאֲמִתְּךָ,    תָּמִיד יִצְּרוּנִי

  attah Adonai--    lo-tichla rachameicha mimmenni;chasdecha va'amittecha,    tamid yitzeruni

40 - 13   כִּי אָפְפוּ-עָלַי רָעוֹת,    עַד-אֵין מִסְפָּר--הִשִּׂיגוּנִי עֲו&zwj;ֹנֹתַי,    וְלֹא-יָכֹלְתִּי לִרְאוֹת;עָצְמוּ מִשַּׂעֲרוֹת רֹאשִׁי,    וְלִבִּי עֲזָבָנִי

  ki afefu-alay ra'ot,    ad-ein mispar--hisiguni av&m;zwyo;notay,    velo-yacholetti lir'ot;atzemu misa'arot ro'shi,    velibi azavani

40 - 14   רְצֵה יְהוָה, לְהַצִּילֵנִי;    יְהוָה, לְעֶזְרָתִי חוּשָׁה

  retzeh Adonai, lehatzileni;    Adonai, le'ezrati chushah

40 - 15   יֵבֹשׁוּ וְיַחְפְּרוּ, יַחַד--    מְבַקְשֵׁי נַפְשִׁי, לִסְפּוֹתָהּ:יִסֹּגוּ אָחוֹר, וְיִכָּלְמוּ--    חֲפֵצֵי, רָעָתִי

  yevoshu veyachperu, yachad--    mevakshei nafshi, lispotah:yissogu achor, veyikalemu--    chafetzei, ra'ati

40 - 16   יָשֹׁמּוּ, עַל-עֵקֶב בָּשְׁתָּם--    הָאֹמְרִים לִי, הֶאָח הֶאָח

  yashommu, al-ekev bashettam--    ha'omerim li, he'ach he'ach

40 - 17   יָשִׂישׂוּ וְיִשְׂמְחוּ, בְּךָ--    כָּל-מְבַקְשֶׁיךָ:יֹאמְרוּ תָמִיד, יִגְדַּל יְהוָה--    אֹהֲבֵי, תְּשׁוּעָתֶךָ

  yasisu veyismechu, becha--    kal-mevaksheicha:yo'mru tamid, yigdal Adonai--    ohavei, teshu'atecha

40 - 18   וַאֲנִי, עָנִי וְאֶבְיוֹן--    אֲדֹנָי יַחֲשָׁב-לִי:עֶזְרָתִי וּמְפַלְטִי אַתָּה;    אֱלֹהַי, אַל-תְּאַחַר
